Child Protection

  • Breakout Performing Arts is a safe and secure environment for all students who wish to enjoy the arts. Parents can be confident that our student’s health and safety will always be our main priority.
  • We have a duty of care to safeguard all children involved in activity at Breakout from harm. All children have a right to protection, and the needs of disabled children and others who may be particularly vulnerable will always be taken into account.
  • Breakout requires all teachers and assistants at the school to have an enhanced clearance through the DBS – Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB checks). No person will be allowed to join the company without this document. The school is also covered by public liability insurance. All of these documents are available upon request.
  • Breakout takes into consideration the ratios for the supervision of students recommended by the NSPCC when deciding the teacher-to-student ratios in classes.
  • Whilst in Breakout’s care, no student will be allowed to leave the premises after or during a class, without supervision deemed appropriate by the principal of the school.

Any student or parent who has concerns regarding child protection should contact the principals of the school, Rachel and David Hardway, via our contact page.
